About Andrea
Andrea is passionate about healing and believes Bowen therapy has the power to change people’s lives. Andrea studied medicine in Germany at the University of Mainz for 2 years until personal reasons motivated her to switch courses and pursue a Masters of Education instead. After working as a German teacher for adults and youth in language schools in Germany and as lecturer at the University of UWA in Perth, Andrea decided to return to her original passion: medicine and healing.
While she was pregnant with her first child, Andrea suffered back pain and pelvic discomfort and found relief through Bowen therapy. She was amazed by this healing modality as a patient and recommended it to family and friends. In 2010 after moving back to Margaret River, Andrea decided it was time for a career change. She enrolled in the Smart Bowen Therapy International College, obtaining her Diploma in 2013. Andrea then joined a remedial therapy clinic in Margaret River where she worked alongside physiotherapists, naturopaths, massage therapists and acupuncturists. She later worked in a holistic healthcare clinic, sharing the space with kinesiologists, reiki therapists, naturopaths and an acupuncturist. In 2018 the opportunity arose to realise her dream of opening her own clinic. The Margaret River Bowen Therapy clinic is a space dedicated to healing, growth, holistic support and individualised care.
Andrea is passionate about helping people deal with the physical and emotional imbalances in their life. She regularly attends workshops and seminars to develop her skills and understanding of the human body and mind. Andrea is currently studying Mindfulness and aims to further integrate conscious living and mental health support into her practice. She currently lives in Margaret River with her husband, two children and her dog Frieda.
